Founder and Artistic Director Sinéad O'Neill is a director and producer of opera with a passion for collaborating with composers and performers to create new work.
She is most proud of the original pieces of music theatre that she conceived, directed and produced: The Barrington Hippo, On the Axis of this World, The Raven, and The Albatross, with composers Kate Whitley, Matt Rogers and Kim Ashton.
Sinéad was Stage Director of the inaugural Glyndebourne Opera Cup. She directed the revival of Annabel Arden's Il Barbiere di Siviglia for Glyndebourne Tour 2017 (see photo gallery). She returns to the BBC Proms in summer 2018 as Stage Director for Stefan Herheim's Pelléas et Melisande. She will direct The Secret Marriage for Hampstead Garden Opera in Autumn 2018. Sinéad is a Board Member of English Touring Opera.
Sinéad grew up in rural Ireland, in the small farming community of Clonmellon, Co. Westmeath, where she lived until commencing her studies at University College, Cork. Having completed a Masters at the University of Oxford, she moved to the UK full-time in 2006, while maintaining close ties with the unspoilt and inspiring landscape of her origins.
